'''Brad Dowdy:''' whether it's matching ink or getting a nib for line variation this one's a little bit tougher because the 3776 even in a soft medium like you say soft fine that's not going to give you that much line variation I use the soft fine I love writing with the soft fine it does not give a lot of line variation the soft medium will give you more neither will give you as much as the falcon and neither will give you as much line variation as the F A nib that pilot also sells in some other pens if you're looking at something with a lot of line variation that's going to give you more line variation than the falcon if you were going to do mostly sketching the falcon is going to work better if you're going to do mostly writing the 3776 is going to work better so if based on what you're saying and based on these two pens I would pick the falcon and then you could even go with wider variation and look at the F A nib so that's kind of what I would go with the soft medium of the platinum it's not going to do what you would expect even
