Made in France, this mechanical pencil is one of the cheapest available on the market. It is entirely made of plastic, and the only nonplastic part of it is the eraser. The eraser doesn't have a cap to keep it clean. The mechanical pencil comes in a variety of colors of, body and clip. The Bic Matic is designed for general writing but the tip is built so you can use a ruler. It is available in size 0.5 mm, 0.7 mm, 0.9 mm. The most common size is 0.7 mm. Mostly because it is addressed to young students. Bic has three variants of this mechanical pencil Bic Xtra Strong Bic Xtra Smooth Bic Xtra Precision Even though this is not a disposable mechanical pencil and can be reused over and over again, it is available for buying in bulk (12, 32 pieces) Because of the low price it is used as OEM product for marketing purposes, branded only with the logo of the company.
